How Mexican import taxes are calculated
- Customs value: value of the goods plus freight and insurance to the point of entry.
- IGI: the duty rate of your tariff classification on the customs value. It is 0% if the goods qualify under USMCA, or under IMMEX or PROSEC.
- DTA: customs processing fee, 8 per thousand of the customs value on definitive imports.
- Antidumping duty: only for certain products and origins.
- VAT (IVA): 16% on the customs value plus IGI, DTA and duties.
