What is Eilan Trade Solutions / Agencia Aduanal Eilan?
Eilan Trade Solutions (in Mexico, Agencia Aduanal Eilan) is a customs brokerage, freight forwarding, cross-border trucking and warehousing/3PL company operating in Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. We coordinate the crossing of goods through one of the busiest inland ports in North America for customers throughout Mexico and the United States.
Does Eilan only serve customers in Laredo or Nuevo Laredo?
No. Our office is in Laredo and Nuevo Laredo because that is the crossing where we coordinate customs clearance and transport, but we serve importers, exporters and factories of every size throughout Mexico — including the Bajío, Guadalajara, Puebla, Michoacán and Nuevo León — as well as buyers and distributors across the United States.
What is the difference between a customs broker and a freight forwarder, and does Eilan do both?
A customs broker handles the legal clearance of goods before the customs authorities; a freight forwarder coordinates the physical movement of the cargo. Eilan provides both, integrated, with one point of contact for customs, cross-border transport and warehousing, instead of the customer coordinating several separate providers.
Does Eilan handle logistics for IMMEX companies and maquiladoras?
Yes. We support IMMEX companies throughout Mexico with temporary import of machinery and raw materials, tariff classification, regulatory compliance (PROSEC, rules of origin) and transport to and from plants in the Bajío, Puebla, Nuevo León and other industrial regions.
Can Eilan move refrigerated or perishable freight?
Yes. We coordinate expedited customs clearance, phytosanitary inspections (USDA, SENASICA) and cold-chain transport for importers and exporters of fruit, vegetables and other perishable products crossing through Laredo and Nuevo Laredo.
Does Eilan work with the automotive industry?
Yes. We support vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in Mexico (Bajío, Puebla, Nuevo León) with just-in-time (JIT) deliveries, specialised tariff classification for auto parts, and consolidation and cross-dock, coordinating movement between Mexican plants and buyers in the United States.
Does Eilan import personal vehicles or household goods?
No. We do not handle imports of cars, pickups or motorcycles for personal use, or household goods and moves. We do import heavy machinery and industrial equipment — excavators, forklifts, cranes, tractors and production lines — as part of companies’ foreign-trade operations. See our guide to importing machinery into Mexico.
Does Eilan serve small importers and exporters, or only large companies?
We serve operations of every size, from small importers and exporters to high-volume factories and suppliers. Every customer has one point of contact for customs, transport and warehousing, whatever the size of the operation.
How do I start working with Eilan Trade?
You can contact us directly for a quote on your next shipment, a warehousing requirement or a customs compliance question. We coordinate both the Mexican side (Agencia Aduanal Eilan) and the United States side (Eilan Trade Solutions, Inc.) of the operation.
Do I really need a customs broker to import or export?
In most cases, yes. In both the United States and Mexico, formal trade operations require an authorised customs broker to file the pedimento or the customs entry with the corresponding authorities. Working with a binational customs agency such as Eilan keeps classification, crossing times and compliance on both sides of the border under one point of contact.
What does it cost to hire a customs agency?
Cost depends on the type of goods, the volume of the operation, the tariff classification and any additional services required, such as transport or warehousing. There is no single rate that fits every company. At Eilan we quote each operation individually so you know exactly what you are paying and why — contact us for a quote on your specific shipment or volume.
