Without it, the cargo and the truck can be stopped on the highway or at customs. Version 3.1 has been in force since July 2024, and since January 2024 it is also mandatory for import and export moves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who issues it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The carrier<\/strong>, when it is paid to haul the freight: an income CFDI with the Carta Porte supplement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The owner of the goods<\/strong>, when it moves them with its own trucks: a transfer CFDI with the Carta Porte supplement.<\/li>\n<li>For imports and exports, it covers the leg inside Mexico: from customs to destination, or from origin to customs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What it contains<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Origin, destination and distance.<\/li>\n<li>Description of the goods with the SAT product code, quantity, unit and weight.<\/li>\n<li>Truck: SICT permit, plates and insurance policy; trailer when applicable.<\/li>\n<li>Driver: name, RFC and federal license.<\/li>\n<li>For international trade: customs document data (pedimento number), customs regime and <a href=\"\/en\/fraccion-arancelaria\/\">tariff classification<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Hazardous materials: UN number and packaging, when applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Common mistakes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Weight or quantity that do not match the pedimento or the invoice.<\/li>\n<li>Generic or wrong product code.<\/li>\n<li>Missing or wrong pedimento number on imports or exports.<\/li>\n<li>Outdated truck or driver data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Carta Porte whose data does not match the pedimento is one of the most frequent causes of inspections and delays after the crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pedimento and Carta Porte, coordinated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a Mexican customs broker in Nuevo Laredo with our own cross-border trucking, we make sure the pedimento, the invoice and the Carta Porte carry the same information, from the bridge to your plant or warehouse.
