Labeling is the most common cause of delays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Main requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Importer registry.<\/li>\n\n<li>Depending on the product: SENASICA requirements (animal or plant origin), a COFEPRIS sanitary permit or notice, both, or only compliance with the labeling NOMs.<\/li>\n\n<li>Most foods do not require the sector-specific registry; ethyl alcohol does. Alcoholic beverages require the Alcoholic Beverages Taxpayer Registry (Padr\u00f3n de Contribuyentes de Bebidas Alcoh\u00f3licas) and tax stamps (marbetes).<\/li>\n\n<li>Spanish labeling under NOM-051, with warning seals when they apply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to check<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Labeling is one of the most common reasons goods are held at customs.
